Your Annual Workplace Violence Prevention Plan Responsibilities

SB 553, effective July 1, 2024, mandates California employers to establish a workplace violence prevention plan and train their employees. With the annual review and retraining requirements approaching, employers should prepare to comply with California’s Labor Code 6401.9.

Some Annual Requirements for Employers, Including:

Conduct an Annual Review

Review of plan, including its effectiveness and employee involvement in the plan.

Provide Annual Training

Provide annual training on all the law’s requirements, including the plan itself.
