A layered approach to protecting customer payment data

As instances of cyberattacks and fraud increase, so too does the need to protect transaction data and customer payment information.

  • Tokenization converts or replaces cardholder data with a unique token value to be used for subsequent transactions. This eliminates the possibility of having card data stolen because the actual card information is not stored in your system. Tokens can be used in card-not-present environments, such as eCommerce and mail order/telephone order (MOTO), or in conjunction with encryption in card-present environments.
