California Restaurant Association recognizes winners of 2014 Restaurant Neighbor, Faces of Diversity awards

STATE LEADERS IN COMMUNITY SERVICE AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP TO BE HONORED APRIL 22 IN SACRAMENTO

(SACRAMENTO, April 10, 2014) – Six California-based restaurant companies and three individuals have been identified as the state’s winners of the 2014 Restaurant Neighbor and Faces of Diversity Awards, the California Restaurant Association (CRA) announced today. The winners will be honored at a brief ceremony as part of the CRA’s Lobby Day event at 11 a.m. April 22 at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento.

CRAEF, Darden Restaurants partner to advance industry-driven education programs

GRANT AWARDED THROUGH DARDEN'S THIRD ANNUA​L RESTAURANT COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM

(Sacramento, March 20, 2014) – The California Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (CRAEF) has received a $2,000 grant as part of the Restaurant Community Grants program from the Darden Foundation, the charitable arm of Darden Restaurants Inc. The grants program, now in its third year, empowers each restaurant in the Darden family of brands to help award a $1,000 grant to support local community programs.

2014 California ProStart Cup: San Diego, La Quinta high schools come out on top

(SACRAMENTO, March 19, 2014) – Students from San Diego High School and La Quinta High School claimed victory at the 2014 California ProStart Cup Awards Reception Monday at the Sacramento Convention Center. 12th annual California ProStart Cup set for March 16-17 at Sacramento Convention Center

(SACRAMENTO, March 6, 2014) – More than 200 high school students will descend on the Sacramento Convention Center on March 16 and 17 for the California Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s (CRAEF) twelfth annual California ProStart Cup. The overall event includes the BJ’s Restaurants Management Cup, and the Boyd’s Coffee Culinary Cup. The convention center is at 1400 J St. in Sacramento.

California ProStart Cup executed with generous support of sponsors

(SACRAMENTO, Feb. 27, 2013) – Hundreds of California high school students are training intensely in preparation for the 2014 California ProStart Cup presented by the California Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (CRAEF). The event will be held March 16-17 at the Sacramento Convention Center. 

Sponsors play an important role in the execution of the competition, making it possible for several hundred participants, instructors, mentors, judges and spectators to take part in the overall event.

As drought concerns mount, California Restaurant Association urges industry to take action
