Perry Potiris, a prominent businessman who founded the landmark Original Perry's and Mr. Perry's restaurants near Highway 99 in south Sacramento, died Thursday of ailments related to old age, his family said. He was 83.

Linkery off hook over mandatory-tip policy
The San Diego City Attorney’s Office backed off yesterday from its threatened prosecution of The Linkery restaurant in North Park for its mandatory-tip policy, saying instead that it will work with the restaurant industry to clarify tipping-policy notifications.
